At your first visit, you will sit down with Dr. Jessica Tan who will complete a thorough examination. She will then review expectations in terms of treatment options, cost, and anticipated length of treatment time. If treatment is recommended, further records (X-rays, original impressions, scans and photos) will be needed to complete your diagnosis.

According to the American Orthodontists Association, a child should be examined for any possible orthodontic conditions around the age of seven. At the age of seven, most significant issues can be detected by a Certified Orthodontist.

Orthodontic treatment time is almost always dependent on each patient's specific situation, needs and goals. Typically, Orthodontic treatment times range anywhere from 1 to 2 ½  years.

No, a referral from your family dentist is not required to book an appointment with Dr. Jessica Tan.  However, we are proud to say that a number of local dentists regularly refer their patients to Dr. Tan.

A Certified Orthodontist is a specialist in the dental industry. After graduating as a Dentist, a Certified Orthodontist studies for an additional two to three years following dental school and has extensive, specialized training and; experience in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of orthodontic problems. Only two out of ten Dentists take the additional education and training to become recognized as Orthodontists.  

Every patient of Dr. Jessica Tan has unique needs and situations but generally appointments are scheduled approximately every six weeks.
