Meet Dr Jessica Tan | Orthodontist in Stittsville, Ontario

Dr. Jessica Tan started dreaming of helping people from a very young age. As a child in small-town New Brunswick she accompanied her Physician father on house and hospital calls as he tended to the sick and injured. As a teenager, she developed a keen interest in pursuing Orthodontics as her life’s work after spending time helping out at her Aunt Rosalinda’s Orthodontic office in downtown Montreal.

After graduating from McGill University with a Doctor of Dental Surgery and receiving both a Masters of Science and, a Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics from Northwestern University in Chicago, Dr. Jessica Tan became the first female orthodontist to practice in the Ottawa area in 1996.

Jessica Tan has now called Ottawa home for well over 20 years and has even managed to lure her two sisters (also Orthodontists) to make the National Capital Region their homes as well.

In 2003, Dr. Tan opened her own purpose built, standalone Orthodontic office on Hazeldean Road, in Stittsville. Since that time, she and her team have provided patients of all ages with the kind of specialized orthodontic care they deserve.

Dr. Jessica Tan currently serves on the dental team for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, providing orthodontic care for children and adolescents with cleft lip and palate and complex craniofacial abnormalities.

Away from her busy Orthodontic practice, she loves to spend time on the family farm with her husband and young daughter playing the piano, tinkering in her gardens and tending to her cats and horses.
